Bunny In Space – Letter press trading cards

I’ve just received a package with the work I did for Asuka Ohsawa‘s letter press trading cards collaborative project: Bunny In Space. Brooklyn based Asuka invited international artists to design each card (4.5 X 3.25 in.), and the card narratives were constructed in the manner of Exquisite Corpse. The original images and texts were hand-printed via letterpress from polymer plates on 2-ply museum board by Asuka.  Each set comes with its own cool hand-folded paper case and homemade bubble gum. All this in a super limited edition of 40. How nice is that?

If you are in New York, the set of cards is currently exhibited at The Center For Book Arts as part of the Featured Artist Project: 2012 Workspace Artists in Residence

The show will be up until June 29th.

FLUX: a new exhibition in London.

Starting next month (April 18) is my new exhibition in collaboration with british artist Jo Peel at Ben Oakley gallery 9 Turnpin Lane, Greenwich Market London SE10. If you are in town please come by! x

FLUX – a new exhibition by Jo Peel and Florence Blanchard – features visions of despairing urban landmarks and aims to warn us about the imminent loss of ‘taken for granted’ urban icons of our current society. Peel looks at the high street, its days numbered as stalwarts of our cultural landscape are closed down and re-imagined to service the changing needs of our society, while Blanchard imagines the cities of tomorrow with a twist of surrealism and humour. Both artists will show new works on canvas and paper.Untitled

A new header, yes!

I finally managed to design a new banner for my blog!

I actually used one of the illustrations I made for Petite et Jolie holiday compilation.

Litterally meaning ‘short and cute’ in French (which I’m not sure really translates well), Petite et Jolie is an online music label and collective of graphic artists specialized in cute 8-bit/electronic music and graphics. The compilation should be available on 12/24/09 on their website for FREE and will include musical and visual works from a dozen of artists.
